Matt Freeman
Owner/President
Matthew L. Freeman is the President/Founder of DOT Training Solutions LLC, Overland Park, Kansas. DOT Training Solutions LLC, a global company, founded in 2018, provides clients in the transportation industry with high-quality technical training and services encompassing land, air, and sea. This includes hazardous materials, cargo tank registered inspector training, and all DOT regulatory safety and compliance. Additionally, clients receive guidance to foster their safety programs and risk management.
Trained in enforcement of federal and state transportation law, Mr. Freeman has conducted compliance investigations and safety audits during his tenure with the federal and state government. He has built a team of safety transportation consultants and trainers who are former Federal/State Enforcement and Industry experts with extensive experience and industry knowledge. Mr. Freeman earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from William Woods University in 2004. He has held numerous positions related to transportation and enforcement having worked at MoDOT Motor Carrier Services Division, MoDOT Traffic and Highway Safety Division and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Margie McQueen
Business Development Manager
Margie McQueen has over 40 years of investigative, enforcement, and operations program management experience encompassing both federal and state roadside, investigative and enforcement programs, to include the Department of
Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, State, and international law enforcement. She performed motor carrier investigations and roadside inspections as a Special Agent, FMCSA and managed the federal investigative training academy. As the FMCSA National Training Center Safety Program Manager, management under her direction integrated investigative, roadside and enforcement instructional development and delivery to federal, state, and international law enforcement.
She had direct responsibility for the management of over five hundred professional instructional staff and instruction of 10,000 plus students annually. She is considered an expert in her field and one who has never met a truck she didn’t like.
Melissa Wright
Marketing & Outreach
Melissa Wright has a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and brings numerous years of experience in marketing and consumerism. Using a variety of online platforms and professional engagement, Melissa serves as our resident expert in the promotion of the DOT Training Solutions brand.
Cheryl Bonham
Safety Consultant
Cheryl Bonham worked as an over-the-road truck driver before entering commercial motor vehicle enforcement where she conducted roadside inspections and compliance reviews for the Department of Public Safety in Georgia. After joining US DOT, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in 2012 she continued conducting roadside inspections, compliance investigations and served as an Associate Staff Instructor for the FMCSA National Training Center before her appointment as the Federal Training Academy Manager. Cheryl is credited with the development and successful management of the first “virtual” investigator academy for FMCSA – a direct result of Covid-19.
Randy Decker
Safety Consultant
Randy Decker has over 35 years industry experience as a Registered Cargo Tank
Inspector, ASME R-stamp Welder and ASE Master Technician. He previously held
the position of Shop Foreman and Director of Maintenance and has received multiple industry awards for excellence. He is credited with completing 100’s of CT Inspections and, just as important, for conducting Cargo Tank Registered Inspector training throughout the United States. He is known as a “Subject Matter Expert” within the Cargo Tank community.
Jim Young
Safety Consultant
Jim Young has worked in the Bulk Cargo Tank industry for 28 years. This includes time with Heil Trailer Manufacturing in Fort Worth, TX, and as an Owner-Operator of two Cargo Tank / R-Stamp repair facilities in the Dallas/Ft Worth market. Jim is by far a well-respected part of the cargo tank industry.

Christopher L. Benne is a practicing attorney and counselor at law who has been licensed in Missouri since 2006. He has worked in regulatory compliance throughout his more than 17 years of practice, guiding clients in a wide array of industries through complex state and federal requirements in several different industries. He has worked with DOT Training Solutions LLC since 2018. At DOT Training Solutions, Christopher serves in an in-house counsel role. In that role he is not only responsible for handling the firms internal legal needs but has also cultivated expertise in the hazmat and transportation-related industry. Christopher’s wide array of experience allows him to contribute accurate analyses of legal topics to serve both DOT Training Solutions and its clients.
Arturo Prado
Safety Consultant
Arturo Prado, considered a subject matter expert, has over 30 years of commercial motor vehicle experience covering hazardous materials, cargo tank inspection, motor coach inspection and roadside inspection, experience gained through positions held at the USDOT, military and private industry. He has also worked in the aeronautical industry as a Quality Insurance Inspector and Nondestructive Technician. Currently, Arturo has taken the lead in development and instruction of all DTS courses for manufacturing clients in Mexico. He rarely meets a stranger and never holds back when applying regulatory requirements
